Relax With Aromatherapy Soy Candles

Candle making activity is a fun hobby but it can be more fun if you are making aromatherapy candles. When I heard about the word 'aromatherapy', first thing that came into my mind is fragrance and relaxation. How about you? What do you think?

Aromatherapy came from volatile plant oils including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. It has been found that it provides psychological and physical benefits when used correctly and safely because essential oils include all natural oils from plants containing volatile aroma compounds.
I know you are confused with essential oils and fragrance oils. Well, both are really different from each other. Though, both are used to produce great smells but they are different. Fragrance oils contain synthetic chemicals. Unlike essential oils, fragrance oil does not provide some therapeutic benefits and are artificial.

Back to aromatherapy candles, when you use essential oils in making your candle, you provide a therapy to the most neglected sense which is the nose, the sense of smell. Essential oils can calm and restore our peace of mind. If you lit your aromatherapy candle, it can help you divert your stress on your work and makes you feel relax. It is amazing that just by lighting up your candle, you can take control of your health in a chemical-free manner.

When you want to make an aromatherapy candle, you should first decide what kind of aromatherapy candle you want to make. Well, here's a suggestion. Make aromatherapy soy candles. Why? Because soy wax is inexpensive, comes for natural ingredients and easy to clean up.

Agree with soy wax? Then we can start making your aromatherapy soy candles. If you experience making soy candles then you probably have your materials with you except that we are using essential oils instead of fragrance oils. If you haven't experienced making soy candles, you need soy wax, candle containers or molds, cotton wick, double boiler, essentials oils (of course, your choice) and optional candle dye (do not use food coloring or soap coloring)

Now you finally gathered all the materials, first you melt the soy wax in the double boiler. Heat it to 170 degrees temperature. Then add the candle dye to add color in your candle if you want. Add little by little until you reach the desired color then stir it up in two minutes using a wooden stick to blend the soy wax and the color dye. Add the essential oils and began stirring for at least another two minutes until it bond with the mixture. Make sure that the temperature is at least 170 degrees to bind the essential oils and the mixture. Take control with the heat temperature because essential oils will burn if the heat is too hot.

Prepare the wick in the mold by dipping it down with the container. Now, pour the mixture into the container. Reduce the temperature to between 95 to 110. Pour it slowly and surely. When you're done, cool them off and allow it to cool naturally. And now, you are finally done! Congratulations! You finally made your aromatherapy soy candles.

When your aromatherapy soy candle is cool already, light it up and enjoy its therapeutic benefits. Or you can give it to someone as a gift to let them experience its beauty. Relax and have a stress free life. I hope you'll enjoy your candle.
